Basic Food, Seasonings & Soap

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

I would say these two are my i’m thinking that they’re the most important invention in my lifetime.

Well first of all, so because it came to me from a manga and an anime called Dr Stone.

They said some really important points that was just like rebuilding the world. But the one ingredient and factor that helped would be the creation of soap.Because it helps in different situations.

Well, first you gotta be hygienically clean.

And second, it prevents illnesses like with touching and especially the time with the pandemic, how it’s important to wash your hands. And the bacteria would be gone, and it would be prevented from spreading around even including disinfecting wipes.

This substance or small thing has really helped throughout time that I really didn’t think about until now.

The second will be basic food and the creation and invention of different dishes/cuisines and how it transformed.

It also came from watching many tv shows with watching Masterchef growing up and especially from anime like Food Wars. But I did notice one thing that was important, that came from One Piece.

It’s something that a character named Zeff said. And I kind of thought about it in general and seriously, when you’re abandoned, there are no where around you like let’s say an island.

The first thing that is important isn’t how much money you have or electricity or social media or all the superficial stuff….

The first factor you think about is shelter, but most especially food.

And after I saw the scene where he made that sacrifice, and he was thinking about Sanji, and he let him eat, and he didn’t even have any food for himself, just jewels and gold. And treasures that didn’t mean really mean anything.

He remembered and made a good point and how we should never waste food. And that for me that makes me kinda regret a lot. And the respect for resources, because what’s the point if you can’t feed yourself to survive and grow.

Seasonings is an unnoticed thing. That kind of made me realize how grateful that seasonings were invented or discovered.

Because they kind of they transformed food in a wonderful way when learning about meal prepping and switching from eating out and not even eating from fast food for 2 years now. For me and just looking up different recipes with seasonings and styles and appreciating and loving different aromas makes me think it’s a good invention.

One Active, One Creative and another Clever

List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

Money is the central focus of most of the population all around the world of getting the things everyone wants…

But its not the most important in the world.

Kind of strange really because I see many people who have high-end jobs with such high pay but aren’t truly happy because of the daily stress that takes over.

Such a coincidence since its the same topic that a heard on a recent Mel Robbins podcast today.

If pursuing money were not an factor for me…

I would work 3 types of job that I would like to give a try.

  1. Actress – a creative job that since I was a kid, I would love to do because when it came from a scene from a movie I watched or a funny moment of a TV. Loved acting it out.
  2. Wrestler/Manager in a wrestling company – an active job around a sport that I fell in love with since I was 5. I was not the most active but I wanted to see how I’ll do.
  3. Detective – I don’t know when I started to like crime and theories. Maybe by knowing about Sherlock Homes, reading mysteries since middle school or watching Elementary and The Rookie but its something I would try

No Need to Be Perfect or Control

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

As a kid, I wouldn’t say I was too pressured.

But I did not get the grades in the subjects that my parents approved of….

There would be harsh and negative judgment and that caused me to put so much pressure and be hard and critical in my own self-reflection.

So much so, when I got a bad grade like a C or B- in grade school to college. I would cry for an hour and say such horrible things to myself. I would want to control the outcome and when things didn’t go my way, it would feel like the end of my life.

Like…I’m so stupid, Why can’t I get this right, I have no brain 😔

The instant experience or action that led to a change was in 2024. When I was depressed for a couple after I failed a big exam and others passed. I put such a comparison and felt stupid because it was a familiar subject and I couldn’t remember from college after the pandemic.

Then my brother told me to take a trip for my self-care and get into a new environment and erase everything and live in the moment.

So I did, it was the best decision. It was like a refresh and when I got back home. I googled what I can listen to for self-care and change. Because I was not in a good state of mind, I decided to focus and start a lifestyle journey that I am still continuing.

My first 2 podcasts that helped me so much even today.

  • Mel Robbins
  • Jay Shetty

2 Quotes that helped change my thought process and still help me today.

I may not be perfect, but I am worthy – Mel Robbins

Mel Robbins discusses in her podcasts, in a lot of episodes that chasing perfection is a trap that prevents true progress and acceptance of oneself.

I took that into account because I am a people pleaser and it was for other people I needed to be perfect, and set an amazing standard that I didn’t accept myself, no one can be good or excel at everything.

The externals will never be perfect, and the goal isn’t perfection. Life is not going to go your way. You have to go your way and take life with you. Understanding this will help you be prepared for whatever may come – Jay Shetty

After hearing that on many of his podcasts episodes with experts I psychology and human behavior.

I really sat with myself. Everyone’s life has its ups and downs and you cannot control everything in life, you can only control yourself, your actions, and make yourself happy.

I am still reminding myself because as I go through the stressful and bad times, I forget. So I just write it down and remind myself what I can control and grateful for.

Take a Break & Journal Your Thoughts

What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

Mental Health is something I did not consider important, until 3 years ago I got wiser and had a lot of personal factors….something that took me to a very low point in my life and I didn’t know how to get out.

So I just thought and searched online what is something I can do to improve my mornings and not feel depressed….

And some strategies that I found out…

1. Try and make a routine to help lessen the load. With mornings and evenings.

2. Add small healthy habits slowly to help your mental and physical well-being.

3. Exercise although tiring and hard at first can go a long way and helps…

4. Don’t wait to start something or learn something new just do it.

5. Meditation and time to yourself is a very important factor that is healthy to add.

6. Journaling your thoughts, fears, aspirations, anger, joy, sadness, and happiness is a good outlet to release stress

7. Planning out meals brought a new joy and improved my mental health because I don’t feel the need to rush or stuck in confusion.

8. Take a break during the day…too much time on one or multiple things will lead to burnout.

I am still reading and looking at some more good advice to add to help me but I still keep on trying. 🙂

Take a Risk to Venture Off

What are your future travel plans?

Well, since traveling to 2 places for the first time out in the world…

One is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Wonderful place and will definitely go to take a trip back in the future.

Second was Cuba, a budget-friendly place that had beautiful weather, but it will take a different accommodation to make me go back.

That being said, I would like to visit more tropical places and areas of historical value and learn about the culture around the world.

If I were to write down a list…

  1. Jamacia
  2. Spain
  3. Italy
  4. Switzerland
  5. Fiji
  6. Barbados
  7. Maldives
  8. Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka)
  9. Bali
  10. Bora-Bora
  11. Dubai
  12. China (Great Wall)
  13. Machu Pichu
  14. Cape Town
  15. Tanzania
  16. Florida – Need on trip to Disneyland at least once
  17. London
  18. Barcelona
  19. Sydney, Australia
  20. Paris France
Around the World

It’s a bit of a long list but I really would love to see you around the world and learn more.

I would try probably for some budget-friendly as I am right now.

But I pray and believe that step by step, I can get the chance to visit those places and even more across the world.

I’m even interested in going and traveling around where I live right now in Canada.

Because for 25 years, I haven’t even seen around the country where I was born. So for starters, I would love to see the great Baniff Park. How about taking a trip to see Vancouver?

Take a trip to Montreal, see the culture of Quebec City, and even some of the Northwest Territories, or a little bit up in Calgary, just for a change.

Dishonesty & Inconsideration

What bothers you and why?

Things that bother me is when people aren’t being honest or they’re very being inconsiderate without considering the other person’s perspective.

With the dishonest issue, it’s when you know, no one is telling you the truth?

It gets me scared and cautious that they can do something bad.

For me, it’s like they’re putting on a fake face, and it’s hard to tell who they really are, but you want to keep your distance.

The other factor of being inconsiderate is that each and every person has has his or her situation that they’re dealing with that nobody knows about.

Everyone has their opinions in public and private settings. And I’ve always seen, in bad situations, people get blamed for something that they can’t control, or the other person doesn’t know about what’s going on.

A few good quotes that I’ve always learned even especially in delicate situations is…

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

You never know what somebody is going through until you walk a mile in their shoes

Prayer and Reminders

How do you express your gratitude?

How I always expressed my gratitude, it’s something that I didn’t really pay attention before until I really got a hard look and heard a very good work famous motivation video from Steve Harvey that really changed my objective of thinking.

One thing that I always express my gratitude is by praying in the morning and at night, and I express gratitude for even the smallest things that I have right now.

Another thing that I’ve started is my new habit is writing down affirmations.

Both of them help my mental health and my attitude in the morning and when I go to bed at night, which is one of the most important times for a good day to start and end.

Habits are Helpful

How do you practice self-care?

I used to neglect my self-care because of the same old excuses…

I’m busy

I don’t have time

The day is already over so what is the use

However, reading a book called Atomic Habits and listening to some good YouTube influencers who practice self-care has helped me.

Still a beginner, but taking it more seriously.

Some habits with the following cue, craving, reward and response that I have started for my self-care are…

  1. Do not open my phone until 1 hour or 2 when I wake up
  2. Drinking water when I wake up
  3. Trying to sleep early and prioritize sleep
  4. Eating more healthy food and making my meal plan to try new recipes
  5. Exercise in the morning and walking more to help my well
  6. Create a morning and night skincare routine
  7. Meditation when I work at home to reset my mind
  8. Journaling: writing how I felt on paper than keeping it in and becoming mentally unwell
  9. New Hobbies & Comfort Zone. I’m trying to grow more as a person by putting myself out there where its uncomfortable
  10. Limit screen time and reading books

Reading List

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

Well, I’ve started reading more self-help books lately, because they really broaden my perspective.

All three books that I am still reading, fixed my problems with a little bit of time management, organization, taking charge, letting go control-wise, and personal-wise, looking at some good habits, and reminders of leading a peaceful and good life.

  1. Atomic Habits: James Clear
  2. Good Vibes, Good Life: Vex King
  3. The Let Them Theory: Mel Robbins
