Habits are Helpful

How do you practice self-care?

I used to neglect my self-care because of the same old excuses…

I’m busy

I don’t have time

The day is already over so what is the use

However, reading a book called Atomic Habits and listening to some good YouTube influencers who practice self-care has helped me.

Still a beginner, but taking it more seriously.

Some habits with the following cue, craving, reward and response that I have started for my self-care are…

  1. Do not open my phone until 1 hour or 2 when I wake up
  2. Drinking water when I wake up
  3. Trying to sleep early and prioritize sleep
  4. Eating more healthy food and making my meal plan to try new recipes
  5. Exercise in the morning and walking more to help my well
  6. Create a morning and night skincare routine
  7. Meditation when I work at home to reset my mind
  8. Journaling: writing how I felt on paper than keeping it in and becoming mentally unwell
  9. New Hobbies & Comfort Zone. I’m trying to grow more as a person by putting myself out there where its uncomfortable
  10. Limit screen time and reading books

Reading List

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

Well, I’ve started reading more self-help books lately, because they really broaden my perspective.

All three books that I am still reading, fixed my problems with a little bit of time management, organization, taking charge, letting go control-wise, and personal-wise, looking at some good habits, and reminders of leading a peaceful and good life.

  1. Atomic Habits: James Clear
  2. Good Vibes, Good Life: Vex King
  3. The Let Them Theory: Mel Robbins

Good Vibes Good Life

What book could you read over and over again?

Well, I’m just starting to read this book, but I think it’s a book that I can read over and over again because the lessons from this book are a good implementation to taking back your own personal growth. As good reminders of how a good self vibe can lead to the greatness of a good life.

It is called Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King

I think my favorite chapters are learning about self-love and if there’s a lot of advice in the book that shows a simple solution that most people forget in the busyness of everyday life.

One of my favorite passages is just about how expressing gratitude throughout the day, even at the start of your morning, can really brighten up your vibe.

Also, technology he has kind of taken over, and we kind of lost the personal touch of connections that are important to upkeep.

Perseverance

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

One recent apparent failure that has set me up for future success or set me on the future path would be when I failed one important.

Let’s say it was for a postgraduate option trying to help improve my knowledge and with my career earlier two years ago, and I was a bit devastated, well more than devastated, when I failed, didn’t really feel more confidence in myself in lost more even self worth.

So I gave up, but then I started to take a break and then look forward, and I learned a few things, a few skills took a step back and re-evaluate the situation. And here I am again willing to give it another because the worst thing isn’t giving up the worst thing is not trying as much and learning more as I can.

Habits or Chores

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

Every time that I want to implement a new habit or get something done, sometimes it’s pushed to the side.

Well, one of them if I say I want to try a new drink….

Or get prepared for dinner….

Or going to walk in the evening…..

Or even remember paying a bill once in a while…

Or even write down my to-do list for the next day and get prepared for tomorrow….

Now, one of the things that I always never get done is try to read more or go to sleep early. 😅

It’s always hard to do that when there’s good shows. On Netflix or Youtube or Amazon Prime, it kind of preoccupies me.

It’s always hard to let go of my bad habit and put the phone down so I can just continue to have a good evening routine.

So many books…Which one to Read?

What books do you want to read?

I recently started more reading books again about last year….

Because it really helped expand my mind and make sure that we can learn something new and grow  each day.

We’re not limited by anything.

Many books can help with my mindset

And I am, but still feeling stuck? Reading books kind of really helped clear my mind a bit.

I want to read a lot of books just to grow in many different areas that i’m focused on right now.

But if I were to give a top five list I would like to read at the moment, it would be…

  1. Atomic Habits – James Clear
  2. Girls that invest – Simran Kaur
  3. Miracle Morning – Hal Rod
  4. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes – Conan Doyle
  5. How to Talk to Anyone –  Leil Lowndes
