Take a Break & Journal Your Thoughts

What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?

Mental Health is something I did not consider important, until 3 years ago I got wiser and had a lot of personal factors….something that took me to a very low point in my life and I didn’t know how to get out.

So I just thought and searched online what is something I can do to improve my mornings and not feel depressed….

And some strategies that I found out…

1. Try and make a routine to help lessen the load. With mornings and evenings.

2. Add small healthy habits slowly to help your mental and physical well-being.

3. Exercise although tiring and hard at first can go a long way and helps…

4. Don’t wait to start something or learn something new just do it.

5. Meditation and time to yourself is a very important factor that is healthy to add.

6. Journaling your thoughts, fears, aspirations, anger, joy, sadness, and happiness is a good outlet to release stress

7. Planning out meals brought a new joy and improved my mental health because I don’t feel the need to rush or stuck in confusion.

8. Take a break during the day…too much time on one or multiple things will lead to burnout.

I am still reading and looking at some more good advice to add to help me but I still keep on trying. 🙂

Take a Risk to Venture Off

What are your future travel plans?

Well, since traveling to 2 places for the first time out in the world…

One is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Wonderful place and will definitely go to take a trip back in the future.

Second was Cuba, a budget-friendly place that had beautiful weather, but it will take a different accommodation to make me go back.

That being said, I would like to visit more tropical places and areas of historical value and learn about the culture around the world.

If I were to write down a list…

  1. Jamacia
  2. Spain
  3. Italy
  4. Switzerland
  5. Fiji
  6. Barbados
  7. Maldives
  8. Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka)
  9. Bali
  10. Bora-Bora
  11. Dubai
  12. China (Great Wall)
  13. Machu Pichu
  14. Cape Town
  15. Tanzania
  16. Florida – Need on trip to Disneyland at least once
  17. London
  18. Barcelona
  19. Sydney, Australia
  20. Paris France
Around the World

It’s a bit of a long list but I really would love to see you around the world and learn more.

I would try probably for some budget-friendly as I am right now.

But I pray and believe that step by step, I can get the chance to visit those places and even more across the world.

I’m even interested in going and traveling around where I live right now in Canada.

Because for 25 years, I haven’t even seen around the country where I was born. So for starters, I would love to see the great Baniff Park. How about taking a trip to see Vancouver?

Take a trip to Montreal, see the culture of Quebec City, and even some of the Northwest Territories, or a little bit up in Calgary, just for a change.

More Self-Care…Less Phone Addiction

What would you change about modern society?

Modern technology has grown so much over the century…

It has done a lot of good in the world. But it also has done a bit of bad, in more physical and mental aspects.

Technology is a wonderful tool.

But it can take away from real connections that were once there previously.

As I was a kid and I got on the bus, people were laughing, even strangers talking to each other and it was interesting. With meeting new people and having fun or any experience.

Now, as an adult and 2025…

I get on a bus, and everybody’s glued to their phones.

Either looking at them for thirty minutes straight or it’s just mindless doom scrolling on social media.

Even my parents can’t put down the phone to acknowledge my presence while doom-scrolling Facebook videos and looks at them all tge time during social events.

And then I get home and you know, they can’t even look me straight for 5 minutes.

So I would change a little bit about modern society may be more attentiveness.

Put in a smartphone feature where the phone is not active until two or three hours of the day have passed.

And even when you go to bed just so that the moments that are meant to be shared are more meaningful.

Variety of Genres

What do you listen to while you work?

Sometimes, when I am trying to relax at work a bit….at times I listen to a variety of music that depends on my mood and atmosphere…

If I want to wake up because I’m feeling bored…I listen to one of my playlist on Spotify called Throwback.

Old songs that just make me wanna get up and move my body.

If I want to feel reminiscent, I listen to a Bollywood music playlist of songs that I love both fast and slow because it’s part of my childhood.

If I want to feel a bit pumped up then I listen to anime music, cause its part of my pre-teen years to now that I would like to give it a listen and make me smile

Music is a powerful thing that I love 😁

Foodie by Choice

What foods would you like to make?

What foods would I like to make?

Huh that is a tough one….

Well, I would say a little bit of everything since I’m a beginner foodie…

First I would write different types of breakfasts to see what kind of flavors are there?

Especially with the various amounts of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Would love testing out different cuisines, American and Mexican. I’ve been loving Thai recently. Chinese, a little bit of Portuguese eating even more cuisines from my culture, which is Nigerian. But since I did see some Japanese food that I would like to try as well

A favorite of mine to try cooking is…

  • Butter chicken
  • Efo Riro
  • Thai Red Duck Curry
  • Vegetable Stir Fry
  • Homemade Ramen
  • Mapo Tofu Noodles

Doom Scrolling & Movies

Which activities make you lose track of time?

Time…. It’s always one of the most important factors in this life

Unfortunately for me, some of the activities that make me lose track of time aren’t healthy.

Yup, I do doom scroll with social media, YouTube, Shorts, Instagram, or TikTok.

However, I do agree, there are good habits that I sometimes lose myself in too. And then time goes by.

Like reading a nice book or watching my favorite anime and manga and movies.

Sometimes cooking, is a new hobby of mine. But it does help lose track of time.

Certain Things That is Inevitable

List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.

Everyone is Going to Pass On

  • No one is immortal, we are all just living our lives until the time that we are gone from this world and pass on…

    Knowledge is Around Some Corner

    • No matter what age or situation you are positive or negative. At a random point in time, or multiple times throughout the year anyone learns something that helps us all grow…

Creation of Money is Good and Bad

    • Money is one of the most important factors that has changed the world for the good and bad.
    • Good: It’s essential to obtain many things for usage
    • Bad: Can be corrupted in more ways than one….Plus taxes

    People Change People

    • One thing that I know for sure is that as all of us are growing up and interacting with others whether it be your family, friends, teachers, or a stranger on the street, or a nice driver sharing their wisdom. People grow especially from other people with learning something new or being inspired to do something.

    Nothing is Perfect

    • Sometimes people have good days with the biggest smiles and all things fall into place like the yin…But no matter what happens there is going to be a yang where a person has their downfall and goes through rough times. It’s just in balance. Nothing is perfect.

No One Can Be in Complete Control

    • It’s hard because everyone expects things to work out the way they planned and nothing can go bad. Wrong. There is gonna be a factor in any situation that a person cannot control. But they just adapt and plow through…
    • You cannot control others…no no matter how much you want them to change. You can just let them be and let them decide what they want for themselves

    Constant Change…Everywhere… Anytime

    • No matter at any second, things in the world, a country, a nation, or a single person can change in a snap…

    Time Moves Fast

    • Time is quick…speaking as we are in July of 2025. Half the year just blows by in the blink of an eye. Don’t waste it, go for anything you want to do and live out your life so you don’t look back and see days or years full of regret and sadness

    Help is always needed

    • At any point in time, a person’s always going to need help whether it be from online, whether it be from a coworker, a random person on the bus, a family member, or somebody close or a friend. It’s always going to be at one point hard on one person to take, so it’s good to ask for help.

    Mistakes Happen

    • Everyone makes mistakes….it is unavoidable. That’s ok. We just learn from them and the consequences.

    The Little Things Matter

    What’s your definition of romantic?

In my terms… romantic doesn’t have to be the big or huge grand gestures to show affection to a person.

Those are okay in a while…but not my definition

For me, it’s just the little things that do matter. Because they impact the person more than they thought, they did.

Hmm, for example, if my partner cook something from me after a long day.

Or us doing activities together that will help strengthen our bond and have great quality time.

Or even helping around and remembering just unique things about me that I forgot a long time ago that would be a good romantic gesture.

Hmm, a definition of romantic is a small or even medium gesture to show that he cares about me.

One person asked me, would you rather accept a $5000.00 designer or exclusive roses or a good evening dinner out/a nic3 trip with a small gesture with a single flower that meant something to you?

I chose the second option. Because it really reflects how the person it knows me and it’s the little stuff that we can just enjoy each other’s company.

Why would I waste money or accept something exclusive that won’t last long or that is just the basics when I can have a much more romantic and thoughtful time making more memories that last a lifetime with the person that I will love the most?

    Habits are Helpful

    How do you practice self-care?

I used to neglect my self-care because of the same old excuses…

    I’m busy

    I don’t have time

The day is already over so what is the use

However, reading a book called Atomic Habits and listening to some good YouTube influencers who practice self-care has helped me.

Still a beginner, but taking it more seriously.

Some habits with the following cue, craving, reward and response that I have started for my self-care are…

    1. Do not open my phone until 1 hour or 2 when I wake up
    2. Drinking water when I wake up
    3. Trying to sleep early and prioritize sleep
    4. Eating more healthy food and making my meal plan to try new recipes
    5. Exercise in the morning and walking more to help my well
    6. Create a morning and night skincare routine
    7. Meditation when I work at home to reset my mind
    8. Journaling: writing how I felt on paper than keeping it in and becoming mentally unwell
    9. New Hobbies & Comfort Zone. I’m trying to grow more as a person by putting myself out there where its uncomfortable
    10. Limit screen time and reading books
