Since I started my fitness journey last year .I really wanted to work on my endurance and grit for long periods.
And I’ve seen people who’ve built up and grown so much in their fitness journey and put so many activities and have really tried one marathon as a realistic goal.
Like, I remember one of the famous movies, I’m not sure. It has something to do with a famous boxer or a person in training. When a person runs up the stairs and then cheers as they reach their goal.
I wanna try to do that. Maybe running a 5k marathon or hiking up a big trail like a mini mountain to reach the top or finish line and look down and say…
Yeah, I did it.
And since I’ve always been sedentary and put some workouts in my routines, I’ve never tried running a marathon as a nice fitness goal, and running as an activity so that could be something I can try for the first time.
Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.
As a kid, I wouldn’t say I was too pressured.
But I did not get the grades in the subjects that my parents approved of….
There would be harsh and negative judgment and that caused me to put so much pressure and be hard and critical in my own self-reflection.
So much so, when I got a bad grade like a C or B- in grade school to college. I would cry for an hour and say such horrible things to myself. I would want to control the outcome and when things didn’t go my way, it would feel like the end of my life.
Like…I’m so stupid, Why can’t I get this right, I have no brain 😔
The instant experience or action that led to a change was in 2024. When I was depressed for a couple after I failed a big exam and others passed. I put such a comparison and felt stupid because it was a familiar subject and I couldn’t remember from college after the pandemic.
Then my brother told me to take a trip for my self-care and get into a new environment and erase everything and live in the moment.
So I did, it was the best decision. It was like a refresh and when I got back home. I googled what I can listen to for self-care and change. Because I was not in a good state of mind, I decided to focus and start a lifestyle journey that I am still continuing.
My first 2 podcasts that helped me so much even today.
Mel Robbins
Jay Shetty
2 Quotes that helped change my thought process and still help me today.
I may not be perfect, but I am worthy – Mel Robbins
Mel Robbins discusses in her podcasts, in a lot of episodes that chasing perfection is a trap that prevents true progress and acceptance of oneself.
I took that into account because I am a people pleaser and it was for other people I needed to be perfect, and set an amazing standard that I didn’t accept myself, no one can be good or excel at everything.
The externals will never be perfect, and the goal isn’t perfection. Life is not going to go your way. You have to go your way and take life with you. Understanding this will help you be prepared for whatever may come – Jay Shetty
After hearing that on many of his podcasts episodes with experts I psychology and human behavior.
I really sat with myself. Everyone’s life has its ups and downs and you cannot control everything in life, you can only control yourself, your actions, and make yourself happy.
I am still reminding myself because as I go through the stressful and bad times, I forget. So I just write it down and remind myself what I can control and grateful for.
So far nothing is perfect, but I would have a good week if these things happen…
At the start of the week on Sunday, I would pray and get ready for church. I would sing songs, dance, and just enjoy myself. And then, as the church ends early, I just come home. Relax and prepare for the week. I think maybe look up some new recipes and just laugh and maybe go for a Sunday evening, walk.
For the weekdays.
I would wake up to wonderful nice sounds in the the start of monday, no stress, I would meditate and pray.
Then I’ll just get ready for the day. To a nice morning routine, maybe some new habits to try out. Then I would go out to the gym or just stay in for a nice workout session and just be around calming energy and hype myself up for the day.
Then I can eat some yummy, healthy breakfast at eye meal prepped, or I made just for a bright start to the day, and go on a a nice walk
I would always remind myself to repeat good affirmation before I start work.
That’ll be my mornings throughout my week.
The lunch would be the same, but each day I would do something different. Maybe a new habit or walk around a new area and be involved in the community.
I would choose one day out of the week may be a Wednesday or Friday to do a hobby for myself in the evenings.
At work, I would love to be involved in events with my coworkers and like build new connections. Have a nice productive day and never feel like I’m behind.
Once a day, I would like to improve myself and maybe learn something new for the day. So it doesn’t feel like time is just passing by.
Saturdays, I would just wake up and reset from the week and try to clean everything. Just get through with the hard stuff and then in the afternoon, just relax, maybe we go out and just breathing some fresh air.
I would like to go out in the afternoons. Maybe to go for it’s like a simple walk or a movie or any show or any activity that I can make a memory.
I get settled in and come back from a nice Saturday and just pray to start the new week on Sunday better.
Each week moving forward, I would love for at least one or two things to get better and just look at life.
The first job that I admire is teachers because they’re underrated for how they set the course for many individuals. A new generation every year to every decade to every century directs their paths in what they would like for themselves in the future.
I’m sure that some of the people nowadays kind of look back on school whether they were good or bad. And kind of recommend how they had a good teacher to help direct them on who they are. And what makes them happy to consider for the rest of their lives
Doctor
The second job that I admire is doctors in any specialty because they have the knowledge and we’re blessed with such skills that save people’s lives. Watching on TV and experiencing in person is how they’re kind of a support system where a person’s life is at stake. And they can be all of the things at once. They can be a figure of comfort and or they can be an advisor.
They’re developing new technologies and methods and the skills creating a sense of hope for people.
Detectives
For the third job that I admire is a detective, it’s because, well, let’s say it’s good to know how people are thinking, and their skills of observation making sure that nothing can be held back from them. They have a wide range of masses of knowledge in psychology, science, methods of deception, to medicine, to make sure that he was no one pulls a wool over their eyes, which is cool.
I’ve always admired them because they’re the only people who can read you like a book other than lawyers and you can’t lie to them. 😏
I’m such a huge anime fan, that if I had to choose an alternate universe to explain my life in there….
It can be between 2 options, so why not both? 😄
Option 1: Alternative Universe (One Piece)
I wake up on the top of my big pirate ship… 🚢
Sun beams through and one my crew members calls me down for breakfast
Quickly change and get ready and hop on a nearby rope and swing down and land on my vice captain and my medical help and laugh together
And go into the kitchen to a nice meal and loud fussing of my 12 pirate crew
We all laugh and play around
If there is any trouble, I will help defend and fight to get the navy off my back
Escaping and challenging myself to next big threat
So in summary, my life would be carefree and finding adventure and meeting so much people and feeling free on the sea. 😉
Option 2: Alternate Universe (Detective Conan)
Waking up in a big mansion in my house with my family, 2 big brothers and one big sister. 😀
My parents would be well-known and give me more freedom and fewer restrictions.
My brothers would be a police officer high executive and the other would be an entertainer. My sister would be a doctor that is overly cautious.
Me… I would be in high school and working to be a detective like the main character.
Also, I would work with the police department as a consultant to help with cases no matter how dangerous.
I’ll wake up doing the nice routine and say hello my family members. Mom and Dad are off on a business trip but still have the make time to video call us.
My 3 or 4 classmates comes to pick me up for school and we all work together.
I would an acquaintance that I argue, but it will be one of those instances where I argur with him all thr time but don’t know when I start to fall for him
I would have a scientist as friend with a small family friend that helps me and build me different I can use.
I use a scooter or electric scooter to get places and have the wind in my hair where I can do what I would like.
I would have lots of hobbies, one being karate, karuta or dance that I could go.
Still having responsibilities but feeling more me and better.
Summary in this alternative would be a smart high school girl detective who helps when there is trouble that lurks in any corner and be sharp like Sherlock Homles or Ms. Marple.
What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
Mental Health is something I did not consider important, until 3 years ago I got wiser and had a lot of personal factors….something that took me to a very low point in my life and I didn’t know how to get out.
So I just thought and searched online what is something I can do to improve my mornings and not feel depressed….
And some strategies that I found out…
1. Try and make a routine to help lessen the load. With mornings and evenings.
2. Add small healthy habits slowly to help your mental and physical well-being.
3. Exercise although tiring and hard at first can go a long way and helps…
4. Don’t wait to start something or learn something new just do it.
5. Meditation and time to yourself is a very important factor that is healthy to add.
6. Journaling your thoughts, fears, aspirations, anger, joy, sadness, and happiness is a good outlet to release stress
7. Planning out meals brought a new joy and improved my mental health because I don’t feel the need to rush or stuck in confusion.
8. Take a break during the day…too much time on one or multiple things will lead to burnout.
I am still reading and looking at some more good advice to add to help me but I still keep on trying. 🙂
Well, since traveling to 2 places for the first time out in the world…
One is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Wonderful place and will definitely go to take a trip back in the future.
Second was Cuba, a budget-friendly place that had beautiful weather, but it will take a different accommodation to make me go back.
That being said, I would like to visit more tropical places and areas of historical value and learn about the culture around the world.
If I were to write down a list…
Jamacia
Spain
Italy
Switzerland
Fiji
Barbados
Maldives
Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka)
Bali
Bora-Bora
Dubai
China (Great Wall)
Machu Pichu
Cape Town
Tanzania
Florida – Need on trip to Disneyland at least once
London
Barcelona
Sydney, Australia
Paris France
Around the World
It’s a bit of a long list but I really would love to see you around the world and learn more.
I would try probably for some budget-friendly as I am right now.
But I pray and believe that step by step, I can get the chance to visit those places and even more across the world.
I’m even interested in going and traveling around where I live right now in Canada.
Because for 25 years, I haven’t even seen around the country where I was born. So for starters, I would love to see the great Baniff Park. How about taking a trip to see Vancouver?
Take a trip to Montreal, see the culture of Quebec City, and even some of the Northwest Territories, or a little bit up in Calgary, just for a change.
No one is immortal, we are all just living our lives until the time that we are gone from this world and pass on…
Knowledge is Around Some Corner
No matter what age or situation you are positive or negative. At a random point in time, or multiple times throughout the year anyone learns something that helps us all grow…
Creation of Money is Good and Bad
Money is one of the most important factors that has changed the world for the good and bad.
Good: It’s essential to obtain many things for usage
Bad: Can be corrupted in more ways than one….Plus taxes
People Change People
One thing that I know for sure is that as all of us are growing up and interacting with others whether it be your family, friends, teachers, or a stranger on the street, or a nice driver sharing their wisdom. People grow especially from other people with learning something new or being inspired to do something.
Nothing is Perfect
Sometimes people have good days with the biggest smiles and all things fall into place like the yin…But no matter what happens there is going to be a yang where a person has their downfall and goes through rough times. It’s just in balance. Nothing is perfect.
No One Can Be in Complete Control
It’s hard because everyone expects things to work out the way they planned and nothing can go bad. Wrong. There is gonna be a factor in any situation that a person cannot control. But they just adapt and plow through…
You cannot control others…no no matter how much you want them to change. You can just let them be and let them decide what they want for themselves
Constant Change…Everywhere… Anytime
No matter at any second, things in the world, a country, a nation, or a single person can change in a snap…
Time Moves Fast
Time is quick…speaking as we are in July of 2025. Half the year just blows by in the blink of an eye. Don’t waste it, go for anything you want to do and live out your life so you don’t look back and see days or years full of regret and sadness
Help is always needed
At any point in time, a person’s always going to need help whether it be from online, whether it be from a coworker, a random person on the bus, a family member, or somebody close or a friend. It’s always going to be at one point hard on one person to take, so it’s good to ask for help.
Mistakes Happen
Everyone makes mistakes….it is unavoidable. That’s ok. We just learn from them and the consequences.
