The Commute Home

What do I find?
What can I find
through the hills and holes of the underground?
A brisk wind travels through the train windows
as the rush of the tracks moves us forward.

I sit and stare.
A tired mind listens to the constant entrances and exits.
Echoes of movement follow the train as it speeds
toward everyone’s different destinations.
Slow, steady steps lead upward—
an automated climb back to the street.

Some arrive late.
Some arrive right on time.
Some step off exactly when they need to.
People rest.
People rush.
People stare at their phones.

Another step outside.
Wind against my face.
I reach my destination:
bouncing elevators,
broken mailboxes,
the same yellow and brown hallway.
The familiar clutter.
The low evening quiet.

But somewhere in the middle of all of this,
I practice patience.
Each ride home
is another chance
to become a little better
than I was before.

Life Itself

Do you need a break? From what?

Everyone can use a breakfrom their life.

Especially reaching a plateau of darkness that its hard to breathe.

Take a break. Get Out.

Its hard to imagine that sometimes life can kick you in the ass people can get in absolute dark place.

Especially my situation now, where life uncertainties kick me and now I just need a break from my life.

Just not be me for a sec.

Cleaning Up After Everyone

What do you complain about the most?

Sometimes its hard when  I feel like the most responsible and aren’t beligrent of serious situations.

And its the small annoying things that I have to handle, when it can be clearly taken care by another person who is responsible for their own mess.

Its puts mental stress…..on not only by my coping limit but my inner peace.

Examples

  • Someone leaving messes around the house that they expect others people to pick up for them
  • Someone is not responsible for his/her finances and leaves it to another to be good when they are having their own stress
  • Someone who isn’t being responsible for his own life or career and you have to be his assistant

When the complaints start, and you want to not blow up. It helps to remember some podcasts like Mel Robbins or Jay Shetty on boundaries, mental health, stress and responsibilities.

Failure & Alone

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

As a young girl, I am used to or accustomed to trying to succeed every time, and every time that I fail, it would just be a hammer to the head or a punch in the face that and everything would be fallen out of place.

Or there are some times when I do have social anxiety, and I feel alone, and I just feel out of place with the other cliques or groups of friends that I’m not part of.

Or another feeling that I just don’t belong.

It’s a lonely inside feeling, but I always get reminded later that I will be okay….sometimes.

I mean, no one’s perfect, but it’s really hard not to be perfect in your parents’ eyes when they have high expectations for you. It adds a couple of pressures.

And when you’re a quiet girl, it’s hard to make friends but I understand now that you don’t need a lot of friends to be okay. But I do have a small, but it does make me feel a little lonely and scared.

Mix of Morning & Evening

What’s your favorite time of day?

My favorite time of day? 🤔

Well a couple of years ago, it would be a different answer…

But now I do love the mix of mornings 🌄 and evenings 🌆

Now that I have added a morning routine with some tips of:

  • Making my bed
  • Drinking a glass a water when I wake up
  • Adding a skincare routine
  • Exercise (HIT, Stretch, Pilates)
  • Good Breakfast

Love when the sunrise hits and I see a hue of beautiful colors.

For evenings, I like just shutting off from work and relaxing freely.

Look back at the day and drinking some tea and reading a good book and eating a warm dinner.

Plus evenings help to:

  • Plug out of work mode
  • Set yourself up for tomorrow
  • Warm dinners
  • Good kickback entertainment that brings a smile
  • Read, relax and reset
  • Do something for yourself
