Write about your approach to budgeting.
I’m still learning even as a learning accountant of my budgeting format. But I kind of changed it from the usual 50/30/20 with Needs, Wants, Savings.
My format now is a bit a flip to the format….
It is more like 70/20/10 format.

Oh, now I’m trying not to spend too much on my wants like pointless stuff that i won’t use after one time. And more on my needs and being satisfied with what I have for a good specific amount of time.
I’m only putting items that I want for personal growth, only for emergencies or if it is absolutely necessary.
This focuses on more to investing and saving a good portion than spending too much on what I want. Because it’ll help me more in the long run, and i’m really focused on in the short term and towards my future.
I consider beauty to be a want, not a need. There are necessary health care items like shampoo, soap, chap stick, lotion. Skin care is more about health than beauty. As for hobbies and entertainment, those are necessary for our mental and emotional health as well as physical sometimes. I mentioned in my post about re-reading, re-playing, and re-watching. Some hobbies like arts and crafts also involve recycling. For those reasons I don’t think they should be in the 70% category. Anyway this post is interesting and it just got me thinking about those things.

That is very true. Beauty is considered a want in my terms for social aspects, but entertainment actually helps people mental well being. So I have to rearrange the categories. Thank you 🙂
